Halifax bank robber allegedly fled on bicycle

Halifax police are searching for a man after he allegedly robbed a bank and fled on a bicycle.

Police say the man entered the TD Bank on Quinpool Road at about 11:20 a.m. on Wednesday, according to a news release from the Halifax Regional Police.

He handed a note to the teller and walked out with a quantity of money, driving away on a bicycle and heading northbound on Monastery Lane.

Police say the employee was not hurt.

They describe the suspect as a white man between 40 50-years-old, about six feet tall.

He was wearing:

  • a brighter neon yellow/green toque
  • a black winter jacket
  • dark blue pants with horizontal, reflective yellow and silver material around the legs
  • gloves
  • and a medical mask covering his face

Police say he was also carrying a red reusable bag.
