Tourism continues to boom in HRM with another record year in 2024.
Discover Halifax says hotels did well, with the number of room nights sold reaching 1,629,000, up 2.6 per cent from 2023.
President and CEO, Ross Jefferson says, they are thrilled to report another year of steady growth for our tourism economy.
“To compare, visitation to our destination had hit an all-time high in 2019, setting a new standard for our industry. The latest numbers for 2024 demonstrate remarkable strides in building the appeal of our destination and welcoming visitors to experience all we have to offer.”
Considering this growth, Discover Halifax has launched a five-year tourism plan and now wants community feedback.
There will be eight sessions across HRM as well as an online survey.
