Shubenacadie Sam getting ready for Groundhog Day

It’s that time of year again!

Will we have an early spring or six more weeks of winter?

The province is reminding that Shubenacadie Sam will make the annual Groundhog Day prediction, Sunday, February 2.

Minister of Natural Resources, Tory Rushton says, the celebration holds a “special place” in the hearts of many in Nova Scotia.

“Groundhog Day shares the spotlight with World Wetlands Day, and the wildlife park is excited to offer engaging activities that celebrate wetlands and their incredible biodiversity.”

It kicks off at 7:45 a.m. with Sam’s prediction posted to X, shortly after 8 a.m.

You can attend in person or watch the live stream on Facebook.
