A 32-year-old man is facing a handful of charges after a woman died after she was hit by a car in the south end of Halifax while in a marked crosswalk.
Police say it happened Monday night after a car crashed into another vehicle on Jubilee Road.
The driver then drove away before hitting the pedestrian on Robie Street and Veterans Memorial Lane and then two other parked vehicles
The woman died in hospital.
The suspect was arrestd at the scene and will now appear in court at later date to face these charges:
-Operation of a conveyance causing death
-Operation of a conveyance while impaired causing
death
-Failure to stop after an accident resulting in death
-Failure to stop after an accident
Halifax Regional Police extend heartfelt condolences to the woman’s family and friends. Police also extend thanks to the witnesses who remained at the scene through the evening.
The investigation is ongoing.
