Street closure in downtown Dartmouth due to ice festival

A road closure due to icy conditions – but it’s not what you might think.

The Downtown Dartmouth Ice Festival is underway. It kicked off Friday with an ice carving workshop and continues through Sunday.

It means Portland Street between Alderney Drive and Prince Albert Road will be closed Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

During this weekend’s event, you can watch talented carvers from all over creating their amazing crystal-clear ice sculptures.

The annual winter celebration also includes an illuminated sculpture garden, live entertainment and a street party.
