Man in ‘medical distress’ crashed car into Robie St building: Police

A 75-year-old man was taken to hospital after crashing his car into a building on Robie Street.

Police say it happened Friday around 7:48 p.m., when officers saw a vehicle speeding near Young and Robie Streets.

It hit another vehicle, then a tree, before crashing into the side of a commercial building.

The driver appeared to be in medical distress.

According to the Halifax fire department, multiple people were injured, but it is unclear how many and badly they were hurt.

Firefighters knocked down some loose bricks from the building, but it was not in danger of collapse.

The vehicle, however, was a write off.

The investigation continues.
