Police charge Dartmouth man after firearm seizure

Halifax Regional Police have laid charges after a firearms investigation in Dartmouth.

Officers executed a search warrant at a Nadia Drive home Thursday morning.

They arrested a 54-year-old man and seized a firearm.

The accused appeared in court Thursday on the following charges:

  • Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized
  • Use imitation firearm in offence
  • Uttering threats
  • Possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Possession of a firearm contrary to order

Police say the arrest is not related to recent shootings in Dartmouth or Halifax.
