Pedestrian injured in Spring Garden Road collision

A pedestrian sustained non-life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle on Spring Garden Road in Halifax.

The incident occurred Wednesday afternoon near the intersection of Dresden Row and Brenton Street, leading to a temporary closure.

Emergency services responded, and the area was reopened to traffic shortly thereafter.

This event is part of a concerning trend in Halifax, where pedestrian-vehicle collisions have been reported with increasing frequency.

In recent months, several such incidents have occurred, including a fatal collision involving a 72-year-old man in Dartmouth and a serious injury to a 23-year-old man in a marked crosswalk.

Halifax Regional Police continue to investigate these incidents and urge both drivers and pedestrians to exercise caution.

The community is encouraged to remain vigilant and adhere to traffic regulations to enhance safety for all road users.
