Traffic flowing slowly on Windmill Road after truck hit power pole

No one is injured after a tow truck hit a power pole in Burnside, knocking out the power for 279 customers.

According to a spokesperson for the Halifax Regional Police, it happened at the intersection of Windmill Road and Ralston Avenue around 2:45 p.m. on Monday.

No one was injured, and police, fire crews, and Nova Scotia Power are on the scene.

Traffic is flowing slowly on Windmill Road as police direct cars. A few traffic lights may be down in the area, the spokesperson said.

Electricity was restored for many around 4 p.m., with about 18 customers still in the dark as of 4:10 p.m.
