Head-on crash on Hwy 111 results in serious injuries

An early morning crash on the Circumferential Highway in Dartmouth has sent people to hospital Monday morning.

Halifax Regional Police say they received reports shortly after 6 a.m. of a vehicle travelling northbound on the wrong side of the highway near Exit 5. They then received reports of a head-on collision near the Woodland Avenue on-ramp.

It’s reported that occupants of both vehicles sustained serious injuries. An investigation is underway.

As of 8 a.m. on Monday, southbound traffic between Woodland Avenue and Micmac Boulevard on Highway 111 is reduced to one lane and is expected to remain closed for an extended period.
