New IWK study aimed to help youth experiencing PTSD

The IWK’s Centre for Research in Family Health is looking for youth ages 15–25 in Canada who have experienced traumatic events for a new study.

The study is testing a new intervention designed to reduce symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, improve coping, and strengthen emotional well-being.

Youth will learn about PTSD through a series of short videos sent by text over the course of 5 to 6 months.

The IWK hopes by creating a fully online experience, young people suffering will be able to overcome barriers like stigma and access.
