Dartmouth man airlifted to hospital after a three-vehicle crash in Halifax County

Two people have serious injuries after a crash involving three-vehicles in Halifax County.

It happened on Highway 7 near Ship Harbour yesterday afternoon, when a grey Dodge Ram and a White Dodge ram, travelling in opposite directions, collided; after which the Ford 150, travelling behind, hit them.

A 61-year-old Dartmouth man was airlifted to hospital, and a child was taken to the IWK.

The other passengers were treated at the scene by paramedics including a 61 year-old Dartmouth woman, a 66-year-old Sober Island woman, a 64 year-old Sober Island man and a 41 year-old Bedford man and two other children.

The highway was closed for several hours.

The RCMP would like to thank the 64-year-old Sober Island man and a 48-year-old Popes Harbour man for their courage in rescuing the white Dodge Ram driver moments before it became engulfed in flames.

The investigation continues.
