Update: 8 year-old struck during collision involving pedestrian in Clayton Park

Update:

An 85-year-old driver has been ticketed after hitting an 8-year-old pedestrian over the weekend.

At 1pm yesterday afternoon at the intersection of Lacewood Drive and Dunbrack Street in Clayton Park.

The driver lost control, rear-ended a vehicle in the intersection then drove onto the sidewalk, striking the child.

The youth was hurt and taken to hospital for their injuries.

The driver was issued a summary offence ticket for failing to drive vehicle at a careful and prudent speed for existing conditions.
