Two men arrested in Halifax after mosque robberies

Two men have been charged after robberies at mosques in Halifax.

The first was on April 12 around 3:30pm when money had been stolen out of a donation box on Matthias St.

The second was on April 14 at about 3:15am at the same location.

A 39-year-old man has been arrested and is also being held responsible for a mosque robbery on Larry Uteck Blvd, April 10

The second suspect is a 32-year-old man.

The 39-year-old man has been charged with three counts of theft under $5,000 and three counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

The 32-year-old man has been charged with one count of theft under $5,000 and one count of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

Both men are scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court at a later date to face the charges
