Thousands of Halifax Water customers affected by government cybersecurity breach

Roughly 25,000 Halifax Water customers have been affected by a recent cybersecurity breach, after the recent hack with the file sharing system, MOVEit used by the government. This is on top of the tens of thousands of Nova Scotians already impacted.

The utility says some information was exposed but not enough to gain access to a customer account.

They say the breach does not affect their ability to provide water services.

The province announced last week about 100,000 Nova Scotians were affected.
