The city is going to lower Lake Banook’s dam, in anticipation of the amount of rain expected overnight.
They say it should mitigate possible flooding upstream, however once lowered, there will be an increase in water flow downstream of the dam by Sullivan’s Pond and Martin’s Park in Dartmouth Cove.
HRM is advising residents to use caution in these areas and keep a safe distance from the banks
If you see extreme flooding, call 311.
