Two Halifax police officers cleared of wrongdoing after man’s death: SiRT

The province’s police watch dog has cleared two members of the Halifax Police in connection to a man’s death in May.

The Serious Incident Response Team says it found no reasonable grounds to believe they committed a criminal offence.

May 27, 2023, a man loaded and pointed a bow and arrow at the officers at the Maybank Park in Dartmouth.

The offices each shot at the man when he would not drop his weapon when told repeatedly, to do so.

SiRT says the officers acted in self-defense.
