SiRT investigating arrest resulting in broken nose

The province’s police watch dog is investigating a person’s arrest that resulted in a broken nose.

SiRT says it was December 3 when Halifax police responded to a break and enter.

There were two stolen vehicles on scene, one attempted to hit the police car, which resulted in a dangerous high-speed chase and a police car ultimately getting hit.

When the vehicle stopped, an officer approached it. There was ‘an encounter’ with the male passenger, in the stolen vehicle and his nose broke.

He was taken to hospital and is facing several charges.
