Sunny Saturday packs ski hill and Hwy 4

A beautiful, sunny Saturday with lots of snow on the ground, has brought many skiers out to the hill and clogged up the highway.

Ski Wentworth warned residents just before 11 a.m. Saturday, on their social media page, they were packed. Not only did they already run out of rental equipment, but the parking lot was full.

By mid-day, The Department of Public Works says vehicles were parked illegally on Trunk 4 outside the ski hill, putting the highway down to one lane. Public Works and RCMP were on scene directing traffic.

Colchester RCMP were warning residents at around 3 p.m. to use caution and watch for pedestrians when driving on Highway 4 outside of Ski Wentworth, as there are several vehicles parked along the shoulder of the highway.

Wentworth says even though it’s really busy, lift tickets are still available.
