Police looking for man who approached girl in Halifax

Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who approached a girl on her way home from school Friday afternoon.

Police say it was between 3:05 and 3:15 p.m. on Rosedale Avenue in Halifax.

The man grabbed the 10-year-old by the arm and tried to drag her.

She was able to get away and ran to a nearby house for help.

The man was last seen running up Rosedale Avenue toward Willett St.

The suspect is described as white, around 5’10, in his late 20’s, wearing a black, high-necked t-shirt, back hoodie, black sweatpants, a black toque with grey stitching and black sport shoes.

The man had brown hair poking out from under his toque, as well as a flower tattoo on the left side of his neck just under his jawline.

Investigators ask anyone with information to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
