Emera Oval to close up for season

If you want to lace up your skates one last time this winter, the city says to take advantage of the Emera Oval before they close for the season, March 17.

HRM says staff are continuing to monitor ice conditions and there’s a chance it could close any time before Sunday.

Daytime temperatures are getting warmer, and ice is getting thinner.

Skaters are reminded to check the schedule before heading out.

The city says they look forward to the Oval opening this summer for rollerblading, biking, skateboarding, in-line skating, and more.
