Big improvements planned for Dartmouth waterfront

The Dartmouth waterfront could be in for a major facelift.

Council has approved the creation of a plan to improve the section along the harbour from downtown to the Woodside Ferry Terminal.

Upgrades would include a multi-purpose emergency access route, a cruise ship terminal. and pedestrian access and new crossings for the CN Rail Line.

Residential and commercial development is also under consideration for the area.

Dartmouth Centre Councillor Sam Austin says consultants will be hired to prepare a detailed plan and there will also be public engagement on the future of the waterfront.
