Power restored in Woodlawn area after emergency outage

On one of the hottest days of the year, more than 18,000 people briefly lost power in Woodlawn, Shearwater and surround areas.

The outage happened at about 3:30 p.m., but power quickly came back shortly before 4 p.m.

At about 4 p.m., the temperature in Halifax was 34 C.

Nova Scotia Power said the emergency outage lasted about 10 minutes, while crews removed a tree that fell on a line and “risked impacting equipment,” according to a social media post.
