Clementsvale man charged after shooting at woman

A man faces several charges after he allegedly shot a gun at a woman driving a car outside a home in Clementsvale.

Annapolis RCMP say they got the call on Monday and responded with a K-9 unit, according to a news release from RCMP.

When they got to the home, officers arrested the 79-year-old man, who’s from the area.

They later used a warrant to search the man’s house and found two guns and “a quantity of ammunition.”

Police say the man knew the woman he allegedly shot at, but they don’t mention any injuries in the news release.

The 79-year-old Clementsvale man faces charges for:

  • assault
  • failing to comply with a probation order
  • shooting a gun with intent
  • careless use of a gun
  • two counts of possessing a gun knowing its possession is unauthorized
  • two counts of unauthorized possession of a gun
  • two counts of unsafe storage of a gun

He appeared in Annapolis Royal Provincial Court and was remanded into custody, police say. He’ll appear again August 14.

The investigation continues.
