Millwood High school closed after propane fire

A stressful start to the week for people near Millwood Drive.

RCMP say there was a propane leak and fire at Millwood High School.

However, no injuries were reported.

Millwood Drive was closed between Rafting Drive and Lumberman Drive but has since reopened.

Halifax Fire says an outdoor tank had a leak but fire crews stopped it.

Millwood High School will stay closed today.

According to a statement on their website, the school will be closed as officials investigate and to let gas clear from the building.

“At this time, we expect classes to resume tomorrow, but we will confirm with families later today,” wrote Lindsey Bunin, HRCE spokesperson, in an emailed statement.

Bunin had could not yet provide details about any potential damages to the school.
