A fire in Timberlea early Sunday is being investigated as an arson.
Emergency crews responded to a structure fire at a home in the 400 block of Marketway Lane just after 3 a.m.
The residence was fully engulfed in flames when crews arrived.
No injuries were reported.
In Sunday morning’s incident, a dark-coloured SUV was seen leaving the property after fire was set, according to the RCMP.
A release issued Sunday said investigators believe the incident is linked to an arson and attempted arson in the same neighbourhood earlier this month.
The buildings have been destroyed. The siding is melted and hanging and turned black from the fire. Insulation is dangling from the third floor on the outside, and on the inside, the ceilings in some places are totally gone. Windows are smashed out.
The roof of one building has a gaping hole. At the bottom of one home, the water from the firefighters had mixed with the ash and formed a pile that drifted down the slight hill in a gray line. The open garage of one home had a pile of garbage in the corner, with a purple box of Pull-Ups on top.
It appears to be a neighbourhood with a lot of families. Plenty of driveways had basketball nets and bicycles and toys.
Councillor Janet Steele tells Acadia News in an email that residents have been very concerned ever since the first fire.
“I am hopeful that the police update provides some information and is helpful in allaying their concerns,” says Steele.

The first incident happened Sept. 5 at about 2:20 a.m.
RCMP responded to a report of a Molotov cocktail thrown at a home on Marketway Lane.
That residence was engulfed in flames when officers arrived.
Neighbouring properties had minor damage.
Then, on Sept. 7, police were called around 4:10 a.m. near the same area on Marketway Lane.
Police received a report of a suspicious person, and investigators learned a man was seen leaving a home with a cloth lit on fire.
A jug filled with accelerant was left nearby and the man fled the area.
After Sunday’s incident, police have increased their presence in the community, with both marked and unmarked police vehicles patrolling the neighbourhood.
