Police watchdog investigating Dartmouth hit and run

The province’s police watchdog is investigating a hit and run in Dartmouth that left one man with serious injuries.

Halifax police say it was around 10:30 a.m., Sunday, when officers saw a pickup truck with no license plate in a parking lot off Yorkshire Avenue Extension.

The truck sped away when police tried to approach it. The truck continued on until it hit another vehicle at an intersection at Windmill Road, sending the driver who was a 58-year-old man, to hospital with serious injuries.

The truck was last seen heading toward the MacKay Bridge. It is described as a newer black model Ford F-150 with a tonneau cover.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
