Former ATV and MITV News Anchor Bruce Graham has passed away.
He was a renowned broadcaster, author, poet and playwright, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, died on 30 October 2026 in Amherst, at the age of 84.
He was a storyteller in every sense, first as a trusted voice in Atlantic Canadian news, and later as a novelist who turned the people and places of his Cumberland County childhood into enduring fiction.

Bruce grew up in Parrsboro, Nova Scotia, where he spent his boyhood exploring the shores of the Minas Basin and the Bay of Fundy.
He studied in the Radio and Television Arts program at the prestigious Cambridge School in Boston, and went on to a long and distinguished career in broadcast journalism. Bruce worked both behind the scenes as a News Director, and in front of the camera, first as a reporter and later as the anchorman at both ATV and MITV.
His nightly television commentary, The Final Word, became a fixture for viewers and earned him an Atlantic Journalism Award.
He is also a recipient of the Ohio State Award for journalistic excellence, and has been honoured by the Canadian Radio and Television News Directors Association with its Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to broadcast journalism. He later reflected on those years in his book Anchorman.
