Police warn against unnecessary travel due to icy roads

Halifax Regional Police are asking you not to head out onto the roads on Tuesday morning unless absolutely necessary.

They’ve issued a travel advisory on Twitter reporting there are icy road conditions throughout the region.

If you do need to get behind the wheel, officials recommend using the “utmost caution.”

There are reports of several crashes including on Highways 102 and 103.

Traffic is delayed on Highway 102 between Exits 6 and 7 near Enfield with reports several vehicles are off the road.

RCMP also issued an advisory on Twitter asking residents to be mindful of water pooling on highways.

A transport truck also got stuck at the intersection of Young and Robie street, causing traffic delays until around 8 a.m.

Delays were also reported near South Park Street as a section of the road was closed early Tuesday morning due to a fire investigation between Morris and Spring Garden.
