The municipality has activated its winter parking ban for all of urban and suburban Halifax.
The ban is in effect from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m. Friday.
Any car can be towed to make way for snow removal.
Halifax schools closed due to impending storm
Schools in Halifax area are closed for the day.
The regional centre for education (HRCE) say they based the decision on the forecast – which could bring 10 centimetres of snow.
