Halifax man arrested after ramming police cruiser, drinking in stolen vehicle

It’s a court date for a Halifax man after he allegedly rammed a police cruiser in a stolen vehicle on Canada Day.

It unfolded when police got a call about a man drinking in a parked car in Elmsdale.

The 32-year-old drove away when officers started coming toward the vehicle.

Police tracked him down again on a rural road in East Hants, and say he rammed a police car in the process.

The man was eventually arrested walking on the road in the Rawdon area.

Christopher Wade Ross, 32, is currently in custody and will appear in Shubenacadie Provincial Court on July 4. He faces charges, including:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime
  • Dangerous operation of a vehicle
  • Flight from police

Lower Sackville RCMP, West Hants RCMP, Indian Brook RCMP, and RCMP Police Dog Services assisted the incident.
