Man arrested after restaurant stabbing in Halifax

A man has been charged after a stabbing at a restaurant in downtown Halifax.

Police say it was just before 1pm Monday, on the 1800 block of Hollis Street, when a customer refused to pay for his meal.

He then cut one of the employees when they approached him.

The suspect ran away but was arrested shortly after.

The 28-year-old will appear in court today facing these charges:

  • Robbery
  • Assault causing bodily harm
  • Possess weapon dangerous to public peace
  • Fraudulently obtaining food
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Failure to comply with condition of release order (x3)
