Autoport workers on strike

Employees at the Autoport facility in Eastern Passage are on strike.

Unifor issued a statement Friday saying conciliation was scheduled for Monday.

In a social media post on Monday night, Unifor said Local 100 and Autoport failed to reach an agreement and workers would commence strike action at midnight.

The union represents 239 workers at the vehicle processing and transshipment hub in Eastern Passage.

Operating under CN Rail, Autoport is one of North America’s most extensive facilities, processing and transshipping nearly 185-thousand vehicles annually.
