Weapons complaint puts Halifax West under hold and secure, suspect arrested

A heavy police presence in the Clayton Park area of Halifax, Friday morning.

Halifax Police tells our newsroom in an email that it comes after a weapons complaint near Thomas Raddall Drive.

The suspect is now in custody, and they do not believe there is a threat to the community.

Spokesperson for HRCE, Lindsey Bunin tells us, Halifax West High School was put under a hold and secure, as a result of the incident.

The school is secure, she says, and learning continues.

Police are expected to remain on scene until the afternoon.
