UPDATE 2 p.m.: Dutch Village Rd reopens after gas leak

Dutch Village Road in Halifax has reopened after a a gas leak Friday morning.

In a post on X, Halifax Professional Fire Fighters say crews responded around 8:20 a.m., and began isolating the area.

“Isolation zones have been established, and crews remain on scene to mitigate the hazard,” says the post.

At about 10 a.m., Eastward Energy said crews were working to repair the pipes and reach out to any affected customers.

And just after 1 p.m., they had finished the repairs and cleared the scene.
