3 arrested and firearms seized in Beaver Bank

RCMP and Halifax Regional Police arrested three people and seized dozens of firearms in Beaver Bank.

Officers responded to a report of a break-and-enter at a Barrett Road home at about 7:30 p.m. on July 11th.

They used drones to track down the suspects in nearby woods.

An 18-year-old man is charged with 18 offences including careless use of a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and possession of property obtained by crime.

He had his first court appearance on Saturday.

The two youth who were arrested were released on conditions pending future court dates.

Police recovered the six firearms taken from the home, then in a new investigation, seized 28 more from inside the home which were not safely secured and stored.

Both investigations continue.
