Some residents who have been experiencing homelessness are one step closer to having a warm place to stay.
The city has released a statement announcing work to install the majority of modular units on Alderney Drive in Dartmouth will be finished on Tuesday.
The trailer-like bunkhouses have a bed, washroom, shared laundry and kitchen space.
Based on single occupancy, the Dartmouth site will be able to accommodate 26 people.
The municipality says it will be up to the province to place people into those units, so the exact timing has yet to be worked out.

It adds once the Dartmouth site is finished, efforts will focus on completing the Halifax modular housing site.
Meantime, shelters are opening up in Halifax on Tuesday due to the frigid temperatures in the region.
It’s set to feel like minus 25 overnight, and the temperatures are not expected to warm back up until Thursday.

The Halifax Warming Centre will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday. It’s located in the basement of St. Matt’s Church on Barrington Street.
The province has also opened an emergency centre at the Geroge Dixon Centre on Barrington Street. It will be open from 10 p.m. until 9 a.m.
