Former Halifax Mooseheads star defensman Konrad Abeltshauser is heading to Beijing to play for his home country!
The 29-year-old blueliner from Bad Tolz, Germany was part of Germany’s 25-man roster announced on Tuesday by the IIHF.
He made this announcement on his social media:
Konrad won the 2013 Memorial Cup with the Mooseheads and played four full seasons here between 2009 and 2013.
He holds the franchise record for points by a defenceman with 150 and was a fan favourite here in Moose Country.
While playing for the Mooseheads, Konrad met his wife Erica who’s from Cole Harbour, they are proud parents of a baby girl born last September.
