Retired Halifax Radio Veteran Has A New Book Out

I just finished reading my radio buddy Rick Howe’s latest book “Behind The Mic” covering his almost 50 years on-air covering news in the Maritimes.

Rick takes us back in time to 1972 to 2022 covering the stories of the day and recalling some of the funny stuff that happened off the air.

I was lucky to work with Rick at the powerhouse AM radio station 92/CJCH first in 1989 to 1995 and later between 2006 and 2008 where there was the odd water gun fight in the hallways and a few more pranks including hand cream on telephone earpieces.

The 200 plus pages covers Maritime murder trials, riots and disasters plus has interviewed some big-name celebrities.

Rick has covered labour strikes, police investigations and politics at both the municipal and provincial levels and the daily events that affected the lives of Atlantic Canadians.

Rick and his wife Yvonne Colbert are just a couple of us married media types that found “Romance on Robie Street” as that’s where my wife Roxanne and I met and where she still works today at CTV for Christmas Daddies.

If you want a read you can’t put down, “Behind The Mic” is it.

Continued good luck with your health Rick and I can’t wait for your next book!
