The NHL “Nova Scotia Showdown” is coming to Halifax this October.
The Ottawa Senators just announced the team’s eight-game 2023-24 pre-season schedule which includes three home games in Ottawa and three road games plus two neutral site games.
One of those neutral site games will be here in Halifax!
Back-to-back neutral site contests will take place when the Senators face the Florida Panthers as part of Kraft Hockeyville Canada 2023 on Sunday, October 1st in Sydney.
The next night the Sens cross the Causeway to Halifax for a game against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Monday, October 2nd.
Hopefully our local NHL stars Sidney Crosby and Drake Batherson will dress for their respective teams.

It will be an awesome hockey night in Halifax as we haven’t had an NHL pre-season game since the Toronto Maple Leafs held their training camps here in 2015 and 2016.
Ottawa’s home rink the Canadian Tire Centre will also be hosting the 2025 World Juniors.
