Ian Visits Toronto Maple Leafs Legends Row

Last week when my wife and I were in Toronto for a family wedding.

We also took in a couple of Toronto Blue Jays games and plus stopped by to visit the Toronto Maple Leafs Legends Row!

This is where the Leafs franchise honour plyers from the past with their very own statues located just outside of Scotiabank Arena where the Leafs play.

It was a cool experience to see some of my hockey heroes like Darryl Sittler above.

(Above: With # 1 Johnny Bower, my Mother’s favourite player.)

(Above: The legendary # 7 Tim Horton, yes THEE Tim Horton who started the coffee shops.)

(Above: The legendary tough guy # 17 Wendell Clark)

(Above: Our son Drake’s favourite player growing up, #13 Mats Sundin. Trent our other son doesn’t have a favourite Leaf as he’s a Sidney Crosby and Pittsburgh Penguins fan. )

The Scotiabank Arena showed a tribute on the big screen at Maple Leaf Square to Bobby Baun who passed away last week:

Below: Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner below inside Scotiabank Arena.

Leafs current star Auston Matthews yesterday signed a four year contract extension for an average annual salary of 13.25 million a year, making him the highest paid player now in the NHL.

This contract will pay him 53 million over four years! That’s $161,585 bucks a game or what I owe on my mortgage…

Former Halifax Mooseheads star and Cole Harbour’s own Nathan MacKinnon is second with 12.6 mill a year followed by Connor McDavid in 3rd with 12.5 million per year.

It was fun to visit Legend Row, a thrill for any Leafs fan!

G0 Leafs Go!
