Country Stars Pay Tribute to Jimmy Buffett

Jimmy Buffett passed away back on the long weekend at the age of 76. Many of us woke up to the news on Saturday morning. He’d been battling a rare and aggressive form of skin cancer called Merkel cell carcinoma for about four years. Jimmy had Canadian roots, his grandfather James Delaney Buffett was born in Rose Blanche, Newfoundland and later moved to Cape Breton to Glace Bay, Nova Scotia and inspired Jimmy’s song “Son of A Son of A Sailor.” Many Country stars took to X with their tributes: AJ and Jimmy had that huge hit in 2003 “It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere.”
On my very first radio show on ckpe-fm “Cape Country” on May 27th, 1984, one of the first songs I played was his “Changes In Latitudes, Changes In Attitudes.”

Thanks for the music JB from us “Parrot Heads” and rest in peace in “Margaritaville” and enjoy those “Cheeseburgers in Paradise!”
