Happy Birthday today to Cape Breton music legend Matt Minglewood who is “Rockin’ the Blues” at 77 now!
I was lucky to take in his 75th birthday celebration a couple of years ago at Casino Nova Scotia, Halifax and was chatting with his grand-nephew Drake Batherson of the Ottawa Senators, who’s pretty proud of his grand uncle Matt.

Matt has a celebration concert this Saturday, February 3rd called “Still Rockin’ The Blues at 77” at the Membertou Convention Centre on the Cape and it’s sold out!
When he was asked if he hopes to be still rockin’ for his 80th, Matt replied with a big “YES! I hope so!”
Happy 77th Matt, thanks for providing the soundtrack to our lives, we love ya man!
