Halifax Mooseheads Lose A Member Their Hockey Family

The Halifax Mooseheads have lost a member of our hockey family as Billy Marr has lost his courageous battle with cancer.

Billy was a part of the Mooseheads equipment management team who was always so positive around the rink.

He was well known around the Nova Scotia hockey circles including time with the Yarmouth Mariners.

Billy was also well loved by his firefighting community friends.

I saw Billy just a couple of weeks ago at a Mooseheads game and met his girlfriend Tanya and his boys. Even though he knew he didn’t have much time left, he was still very positive and giving a thumbs up.

The Mooseheads have released this statement:

“We were devastated to learn that Billy Marr has passed away following his battle with cancer. Billy was a part of our equipment management team and touched many lives in the hockey and firefighting communities. Our thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones. Rest easy Billy. You were one of a kind.”

Rest in peace in hockey heaven my friend, you’ll be missed in Moose Country.
