Local Teams Help Raise over $47,000. For Hockey Fights Cancer

The Nova Scotia U16 AAA Hockey League, U18 Hockey League, and NB/PEI Hockey League with High Button Sports, all held Hockey Fights Cancer fundraisers in November and December.

The teams all collectively raised an amazing $47,401.74 for the Canadian Cancer Society.

The three leagues presented the cheque last Saturday at the East Coast IceJam tournament.

According to Cliff Blair, Public Address Announcer for the Halifax Macs, when they started the fundraiser in 2011 as the then Halifax Titans, the first fundraiser collected around $50.00, so thanks to fans and the communities their total has jumped to this incredible total!

Congrats to Cliff, Justin Belanger, and all the teams for their hard work on the Hockey Fights Cancer fundraiser.

Also, congratulations to the Halifax Macs on winning the U18 Major title at the East Coast Ice Jam on the weekend.
