A Dartmouth Whaler Made His NHL Debut With the Toronto Maple Leafs

Congrats to former Dartmouth Whaler Jacob Quillan who just made his NHL debut last Saturday night on Hockey Night In Canada with the Jacob Quillan!

Family and friends were there as Jacob wore the blue and white for the Leafs.

The 22-year-old forward from here Dartmouth faced a couple of other Nova Scotians as the Leafs faced off with the Ottawa Senators whose lineup boasts Matthew Highmore also from Dartmouth and the Valley’s Drake Batherson.

Jacob saw 5:21 of NHL ice time registering a hit in a close 2-1 loss to the Ottawa Senators.

He played his under-18 hockey years with the Dartmouth Major Midgets before heading to the United States for a couple years at Salisbury prep school in Connecticut, then followed by a junior A season out in British Columbia and three seasons at Quinnipiac University, where he won the NCAA Division 1 national championship in 2023.

Congrats to our latest Bluenoser to crack an NHL lineup, good luck Jacob and Go Leafs Go!
