It’s going to be a big weekend in Quebec City this weekend for the 2025 QMJHL Draft.

Your Halifax Mooseheads hold the 3rd overall pick in the first round, so this will be an impact player for years to come here in Moose Country, the Herd also hold the 21st and 29th picks in the second round.

The QMJHL announced the 2025-2026 schedule this week.

The league announced some of its highlights, including inter-league games against the Ontario Hockey League, the Saint John Sea Dogs’ will play three games in Fredericton.

The Herd’s home opener is on Saturday, September 20th facing the Charlottetown Islanders.

Of note, the Newfoundland Regiment make their Halifax debut on October 17th and October 18th. They were formerly the Acadie-Bathurst Titan before moving to “The Rock who’ll see their first QMJHL action since the St. John’s Fog Devils left in 2008.

The Mooseheads preseason will have games August 20th at the St. Margaret’s Centre in Upper Tantallon and also on August 23rd at the Rath Eastlink Community Centre in Truro both against the Cape Breton Eagles.

I’m looking forward to my 29th season behind the Mooseheads microphone as the Herd’s Public Address Announcer.
