Halifax’s Labatt’s Brewery To Provide Drinking Water To Help Wildfire Victims

Last night, Labatt’s Halifax brewery made a shift from making beer to producing clean, drinkable water to help support the communities across Canada during wildfire season and to assist those in need.

Back in 2012, Labatt created its “Canadian Disaster Relief Program” with the goal to provide safe drinking water for communities experiencing disasters that compromised their own water supply.

To date, Labatt has donated more than one million cans of water to support communities across the country since the start of their program, something their employees take pride in.

The shift in production this week is a response to wildfires raging across the country.

Labatt expects to produce 20,000 litres of water, rolled out into 60,000 cans this time around.

Hi to my friend Wade Keller who’s the Director of Corporate Affairs at Labatt leading this project.

Way to go, folks!
