Saying Goodbye To Salty’s On The Halifax Waterfront

It’s the end of an era on the Halifax waterfront as Salty’s, formerly the Clipper Cay, has been torn down in Historic Properties.

Many Haligonians celebrated plenty of birthdays and milestones there over the decades, while many put themselves through university working there at the iconic restaurant.

It was always a treat to go there! We were last there with our neighbourhood crew and celebrated New Year’s Eve 2018 and ate upstairs with the beautiful view over Halifax Harbour.

Salty’s closed in 2024 after the building owners allegedly couldn’t reach an agreement with the property owners.

Rumours say no residential property will be developed on the same spot, but future plans for the area have not been announced.

Salty’s in a post say they’ve served over a million lobster rolls!

Did you know it burned down and was most recently rebuilt in 1972.

Thanks for the memories Salty’s/Clipper Cay.
