Groups can apply for funding to recruit, retain healthcare workers

Non-profits, organizations and municipalities that are working on recruiting and retaining healthcare workers can now apply for up to $25,000 through the provincial government.

The province says it is through the Office of Healthcare Professionals Recruitment (OHPR) Community Fund.

The money goes to projects that not only support recruitment and retention but reduce social and cultural barriers while creating a welcome environment.

Minister of Health Michelle Thompson says Nova Scotians know how to make our province more welcoming and attractive for healthcare professionals.

“I look forward to seeing what new projects and innovations will come from this next round of the community fund.”

Since the fund launched in 2022, 82 grants have been awarded. This year, $400,000 is available.

For those interested, virtual innovation sessions will be held. You can apply here by July 16.
